Due to several computer and gallery crashes along the way, I have restored most of this collection from backups. A number of images and links were broken or lost during the rebuilding process. I will be re-scanning and adding fresh mutterings as time permits but it may be a while before I finish scanning and dating cards to complete this collection.
.... Bob Bradlee aka PostcardBob on eBay, email to bob(at)StonehengePostcards(dot)com will often find me.
My most current efforts are in building HTTP://StonehengeCollectables.com .
The Stonehenge Postcard Library is organized into albums based on the category, time, viewpoint, and in some cases subject.
Most general Views are grouped based upon the photographer’s location relative to the subject. Where the photo was taken from; inside, outside or in the air over the circle or on it are primary categories.
The subject Categories are based upon the central point of interest such as: The Trilithons, Sun Stone, Slaughter Stone or by Card type maps, multi-view, and Artistic to name a few.
While the number of categories may seems excessive for a single subject it greatly simplifies locating a card by image in this library.
The visitor should be able to quickly determine if a card exists in this library by visual inspection.
At this point in time it contains a substantial amount of my personal collection along with a growing number of associated mutterings.
The completeness and accuracy of this library is in the hands of my fellow collectors and their willingness to help contribute new images and information. At this point in time what I need most is help collecting publisher and date related information. In many cases Stonehenge was but one or at most just a few views or images, a small part of a much greater series of cards produced by a publisher. It is my hope that this will make the dating process easier.
